We believe in the importance of doing the work of God in our community. Part of this important work is done through the Baptist Men. Our Baptist Men participate in construction projects in our community and beyond. They have rebuilt a house that was burned, completed a massive renovation of another home for a family in need, and have built numerous ramps to make homes accessible for those in wheelchairs. This group is also involved in helping with projects at the Union Mission. These men stand ready to respond to needs wherever they can help.
Our Women's groups in the church meet monthly and regularly participate in mission projects. They are faithful to pray for missions and look for ways they can be involved in our own community to help those who have particular needs. During the fall of each year, the missions groups participate in Operation Christmas Child, the shoebox ministry that reaches children all around the world with simple gifts and a tangible expression of the love of God.
We support many local and global causes for mission efforts. We regularly give to the Heck-Jones offering for Woman's Missionary Union of NC, Global Missions Offering for Cooperative Baptist Fellowship, the Lottie Moon Christmas Offering for International Missions, and the Annie Armstrong Offering for North American Missions. We also support the Union Mission of Roanoke Rapids, as well as several other local ministries. Each time Rosemary observes Communion as a church family, a benevolence offering is taken for local mission needs.
