The Reverend Doctor Layne Wallace was called to serve as the senior pastor of Rosemary Baptist Church in March of 2009.
Layne grew up in Rockingham, NC and earned his BA in Philosophy from Western Carolina University. After accepting God's call to ministry, he went on to earn his Master of Divinity from Campbell University, and his Doctorate of Ministry from Baylor University where he graduated with a 4.0. He is currently pursuing his Ph.D. in Theology from B.H. Carroll Theological Institute.
Layne has served congregations in Rockingham, Lexington, and Raleigh, NC. He is devoted to the spiritual formation of all church members and developing the spiritual direction of each church he serves. Layne believes that the church is the greatest strength of Christ in the community and he is committed to ensuring that the doors of the church are open to all of God's children.
In his spare time, Layne enjoys running and biking, as well as an excellent dessert. He and his wife, Molly, live in Roanoke Rapids and have a new baby girl, Ainsley. They enjoy traveling together and, now, experiencing all of the excitement of parenthood.
Joy Harvell joined the staff at Rosemary in August 1992 as a part-time bookkeeper. In January 1997, she assumed the position of Administrative Assistant/Financial Secretary.
Married in 1982, Joy and her husband Robert have been blessed with a wonderful son, Robbie, and “daughter”-in-law, Sarah, and a delightful granddaughter, Addison. In her spare time, Joy enjoys spending time with her family and friends, especially Addison, cooking, gardening, and relaxing at the beach.
